Faith Formation
The approach to religious education here at St. Anthony of Padua focuses on the family which enriches the faith formation of our whole parish community by helping to create Catholics for a lifetime!
Family Faith Formation is a Catholic religious education model that is based on the principal that “Parents are the primary educators in the Faith” (General Directory for Catechesis GDC) (255). The key to the Faith Formation program is parents’ involvement with their children as they learn a, nd grow in faith. Family catechesis is proven to be the surest way for kids to learn the Fith in a way that will stick!

How does the Faith Formation program work?
- Students attend an in class session once a month with a Cathecist for direct religious instruction to help them learn and grow in their faith.
- In conjunction with monthly in class sessions for the students, parents also participate in sessions to receive guidance with upcoming in home lessons, answers to questions, and build a connection between in home and in-class lessons.
- For the other three weeks of the month, lessons take place within the home. Families commit to spending an hour a week talking and learning about their faith together.
- Children in grades K-6 and making their 1st Reconciliation or 1st Communion, not attending Catholic School, will need to enroll in both Faith Formation and Sacramental Prep.
See Faith Formation registration form located under "Forms" to the right of this page for instructions on how to register. The same form is used for both Faith Formation and Sacramental Prep.
