The approach to religious education here at St. Anthony of Padua will enrich the faith formation of our whole parish community by helping to create Catholics for a lifetime!
What is Family Faith Formation?
Family Faith Formation is a Catholic religious education model that is based on the principal that “Parents are the primary educators in the Faith” (General Directory for Catechesis GDC) (255). The key to Family Faith Formation is parents’ involvement with their children as they learn and grow in faith. Family catechesis is proven to be the surest way for kids to learn the Faith in a way that will stick!
Registration for Family Formation (K thru 6th grade) and sacramental preparation (First Communion/Reconcilation and Confirmation) is now open.
Watch the bulletin for Registration updates throughout the year.
All families need to register whether or not they participated in prior religious education programs.
Family Formation K-6
How does it work?
- Families in this program will come together once a month for direct religious instruction.
- At these monthly meetings, there are classes for both children and parents to learn and grow in the Catholic Faith.
- For the other three weeks of the month, lessons take place within the home. Families commit to spending an hour a week talking and learning about their faith together.
- The Family Formation program provides written lessons with stories, games, questions, and crafts to guide your family time.
Register in advance for religious education for children K through 6th grade. All families will need to register whether or not they participated in prior religious education programs.
Thank you to all the children who have gone through sacramental preparation classes, book checks and workshops this year!
Thank you most importantly to the parents who have participated in the education of their children in all of these programs.
It is time to register your child(children) for next year. If you are new to the parish, please register as well.
Note that the registration process WILL NOT be completed without certificates of previously received sacraments.
